Empire – dances of the Jane Austen era and in the Bridgerton style

We are one of the few groups to offer dances from the Empire period—the era of the Napoleonic Wars and the novels of the famous author Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility)—in our repertoire. We are also familiar with the atmosphere of this era today thanks to the popular series Bridgerton, which brings to life the world of balls, social gatherings, and elegant dances of the early 19th century.

The program features reconstructions of popular social line dances that were an integral part of the balls and salon entertainment of the time. Cheerful and social choreographies transport the audience into the atmosphere of aristocratic balls and evenings filled with music and dance.

The performance is complemented by meticulously crafted period costumes. Another highlight of the program is a replica of a British Navy admiral’s uniform from 1812, which further enhances the atmosphere of the Napoleonic Wars era.

2–4 pairs of dancers. The performance can also be combined with lessons in simpler dances or a presentation on Empire-style clothing.
